Cockermouth School is an 11-18 co-education comprehensive school serving the town of Cockermouth and the surrounding villages. We have over 1400 students on roll and, of these, there are approximately 300 in the 6th form. We have an impressive reputation as a school in both the local area and nationally. The school is situated in an outstanding location at the edge of the Western Lake District, with excellent communications.
The school rightly puts learning and individual achievement at the heart of all it does and we are extremely proud of the academic achievement of our students who, for many years, have been performing above national levels.
The school is a DfE designated High Performing School at the centre of its community, and we pride ourselves on it being a happy and purposeful environment in which to learn.
At Cockermouth School we will also aim to discover and develop the range of talents our students bring with them, giving them confidence, self-esteem and the ability to work as part of a team.
